Voluntourism on the GC

Are you looking for something different to do on your holiday to the Gold Coast?

Blending holidays and volunteering, Voluntourism is one of the ways Classic Holidays is encouraging members and staff to give back while enjoying the destinations we love.

If you find yourself in the seaside city and on the hunt for a meaningful activity, check out our top picks for Voluntourism on the Gold Coast and get the best of both worlds!

It’s safe to say that if you’re visiting the Gold Coast, you’ll be experiencing its famous beaches. The stretch of pristine coastline has BeachCare to largely thank. BeachCare regularly hold volunteer sessions for the community to participate in rubbish collection, learn more about the dune systems and coastal management strategies while lending a hand with the ocean as your backdrop.

Koala Tree Planting

Join the Beaches to Bushland Landcare Program on a community Koala tree planting day and help protect, restore and enhance the Gold Coast’s natural areas. By helping this program, you will learn more about the Gold Coast’s Koala population and take away tips on how you can support local koala conservation. Keep your eyes peeled, you may even see one snoozing in the canopy!

Clean Up Australia Day

If you’re holidaying on the Gold Coast on or around 4 March, 2018, you can join hundreds of thousands of other Aussies at the annual Clean Up Australia Day campaign. Join a local group on their clean up or simply start your own as you help to conserve the Gold Coast’s environment by picking up some rubbish at a local park, beach, bushland or street.

Let’s Go Surfing

Support a worthy cause in one of the Gold Coast’s most stunning hotspots with the Disabled Surfers Association Gold Coast for their Let’s Go Surfing Day. The initiative encourages people of all ages with disabilities to try surfing in a fun, friendly and safe environment. The next session will be held on Saturday 25 February and volunteers can sign in from 9:00am at Currumbin’s Len Wort Park.
