National Kiteboarding Freestyle Series Launches This Month

Kiteboarders will be flying high this month as the National Freestyle Series returns over summer, with the competition kicking off at Cotton Tree, Queensland from 1 – 3 December, 2017.

Classic Holidays is proud to partner with Kiteboarding Australia as a major sponsor of the National Freestyle Series for a third consecutive year.

This season, the series will see the best of the best battle the wind and the waves in five state titles in Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland before the national title is held in Western Australia over the Australia Day long weekend.

The dates and locations for the National Freestyle Series are:

  • QLD State Titles: Cotton Tree, Sunshine Coast from 1 – 3 December, 2017
  • NSW State Titles: Brighton Le Sands, Sydney from 2 – 3 December, 2017
  • VIC State Titles: St Kilda, Melbourne from 16 – 17 December, 2017
  • WA State Titles: Woodman’s Point, Perth on 24 February, 2018
  • SA State Titles: Grange Sailing Club, Adelaide from 3 – 4 February, 2018
  • National Titles: Safety Bay, Perth from 25 – 28 January, 2018

The series not only offers competitors pathways to international levels of competition but an opportunity to brave the elements and test themselves against fellow competitors from across the country.

Showcasing tricks that defy gravity, incredible displays of athleticism and a horizon of awe-inspiring kites, the events are a spectator’s delight. At each event, Classic Holidays members and the general public are also invited to get a taste of the sport and join in the fun at the free ‘Have a Go’ sessions, testing their skills with a trainer kite on the beach.

Bringing the kiteboarding community and public together across Australia, the series guarantees plenty of kiting, thrilling competition and fun for all the family.
