We checked into Sandy Point on a Saturday which suited us well . The unit was lovely and clean. We hadn’t been to this resort since it was refurbished and it was lovely to see how tastefully this older resort had been bought up to date. Lovely, spacious layout with up to date appliances. You could actually live in a two bedroom apartment here there is so much storage!

There are high rise apartment blocks around but these don’t block all the views. With more than adequate sun terraces being able to sit in the sun with complete privacy was also nice The swimming pool was really good, lovely temp. The staff told us that the third floor was on this years budget for refurbishing along with the reception area. The third floor encompassed the pool area including a spa, recreation area & bar. Outdoor there is an artificial turf tennis court alongside a little peoples play area. There are several outdoor barbeque areas ideal for family or small groups.   There was plenty of sports equipment available from reception including towels for pool & Beach. A walkway takes you through to the Esplanade . Really good man made Lagoon here for safe family fun. The Fish & Chip shop was doing a roaring trade! We bought fresh cooked prawns here which were excellent. By the way icecreams and iceblocks are available here altho not obvious. The adjacent Grand Hotel has a great menu as well as an excellent bar service. The bottle store at the rear of the hotel offers a discount when you produce your unit key. One block down there is a yummy icecream shop, another fish & chip shop and a 24/7 convenience shop. Overall impression of this resort is excellent. Accesssibility to all attractions is very easy. It would be an great choice for 2 couples, which is sometimes an issue , as well as families. As you may have guessed by now we loved our holiday here!   Anthony & Kaye Swanson
