Anne and Brian

Hi Lauren & Lorrelle

Back from Vietnam last Friday and just thought you might like to know how it went.  It was just wonderful.  ALL the hotels we stayed in were first class and the resort in Hoi An was, we thought, exceptional.

We were in Hanoi for the weekend of Ho Chi Minh’s birthday – so that was special .  The Silk Path Hotel was good too.

We would like to go back to Laos and just spend time there.  The Burasari Heritage Hotel is lovely and I would recommend it.

What we did like was Vietnam Airlines.  As you know we had our doubts about them as we had not flown with them before but I will be flying with them again.  The meals were simple but tasty and served with calm efficiency and a smile.  What impressed me was the cabin pressure.  I always end up with swollen feet and ankles after any long flight but when we arrived in Saigon my feet were normal!  We felt as though we’d just been sitting down at home here watching TV for just over 8 hours.  Very comfortable.  Our internal flights were good too.  Brian is a retired pilot and he couldn’t fault them.

No problems getting the visas on arrival in Luang Prabang either – took us about 10 minutes and having the right US dollars is a help!

Thanks for organising our arrangements.
