Discover Perth’s Peel Region

Venture south of Perth and discover the Peel region, a diverse and enticing district of Western Australia that showcases the best the west has to offer.

Trade the hustle and bustle of the city for laidback beachside towns, coastal breezes, sweeping fields of wildflowers and a region that has a culture of its own. These are our top picks for things to see and do in WA’s Peel region.

Food & Wine

Known as the ‘tasty region’, you will find a treasure trove of award-winning wines and world-class dining. Boasting a cuisine from every corner of the globe, in both casual and fine dining settings, you’re guaranteed to find some of Western Australia’s best fare – paired with the perfect wines, of course.

This restaurant has thought of everything, preparing the ocean delicacy in more ways than you can imagine possible. Not a fan of oysters? There is an extensive menu of other options to tempt your tastebuds.

What to drink: Peel Estate Wines is not only the largest but the oldest winery in the region. Whether its white or red, rose, sparkling or fortified, you will find it all alongside some of the most pristine views of the protected wetlands and Tuart forest country.

With the Peel-Harvey Estuary, a stretching coastline of beaches, inland creeks and the famous Murray River, you can choose your own water adventure in the Peel region.

For a high thrill experience, try jet skiing or white water rafting. For something more relaxing, hire a boat and wet a line or explore the waterways at your own pace aboard a kayak or Stand Up Paddleboard.

Where to swim: While there’s no limit to the places you can have a dip, Silver Sands Beach in Mandurah is a favourite amongst locals and travellers. Known as one of the area’s cleanest and safest spots for all the family to take a dip, it’s also strikingly beautiful and puts on a pretty spectacular sunset. To really top things off, you’ll find it just a short 5 minute stroll from Silver Sands Resort.
